Making the Most of Wood Using every part of it At our factories and processing plants, we try to maximize the value of our wood resources. Recycling The nature of timber processing is such that only a percentage of wood arriving at mills can become a finished product and the rest is residue or waste. Wood residue from our processes is recycled to panel products as fiberboard or particleboard. Renewable energy Wood residue is also re-injected into our production process as a source of renewable energy. Our boilers use the wood residue to produce steam for our production processes, helping to reduce the strain on fossil fuels. Some of our power plants also use wood residue as fuel and we are now identifying more areas of our operations to implement this process.
