Our production facilities for our downstream products are located in Malaysia, Guyana and China. Our products are developed to meet customer demand, which currently calls for converting logs into plywood, veneer and sawn timber. The natural resource we manage is precious, and we make every effort to maximise the use and optimise the value of our resources. We convert the wood residue from our plywood and sawn timber operations into panel products such as fibreboard and door facings. In addition, we also use some of the wood residue as fuel for the generation of electricity in our power plants. We have also put in efforts to produce higher value-added products, such as flooring products, kitchen systems, doors and furniture. The successful acquisitions of Brewster Limited and Elegant Living have enabled the Group to reach further down the supply chain and enlarge its distribution base in Australia and China respectively. The increased distribution networks offer synergistic advantages to the Group as we aim to capture a bigger market share in wood and flooring products, as well as introduce the Group’s other products for sale to new and existing markets through these distribution channels. The supply of logs in our manufacturing plants is currently mainly from our own forest concessions. In the future, we will have an additional supply of logs from our plantations.
